Often referred to as the leading Technology Park in Australia, Tech Park is actually ranked Number 9 in the world by the Corporate Location survey. It sits on a beautiful parkland at the corner of Kent Street and Hayman Road just opposite Curtin University. It provides a wide range of telecommunications, wireless, and satellite services, based on pervasive fibre-optic infrastructure, and it has a large selection of seminar rooms available, some of them configurable to accommodate 300 people. Many key research centres and schools of Curtin University are located in Tech Park: Exploration Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, Centre of Excellence for Exploration and Production Geophysics, Western Australian Petroleum Research Centre --- and of course DEBII. Tech Park has led to the establishment of several other regional innovation centres throughout Western Australia.
In the next few years Tech Park will see an ambitious expansion, growing into a Technology Precinct known as "WA ICT Centre", covering 300 hectares, partnering with a diverse range of organizations, and providing employment and careers for some 12,000 people.
